2017 Popcorn Program

Hundreds of thousands of dollars go back to the Scouting program in the Sam Houston Area Council as a result of the annual popcorn sale. 70% of all dollars collected during the sale support local Scouting. The popcorn sale is a way for a Scout to support his or her way through the various activities during the year.

Sales Goals:
As a pack, we have a goal of each scout selling $100. That would allow the pack to fund activities such as the campouts without asking for extra contributions from our families. Also, for each $100 in sales, the scout will receive a raffle ticket for the Pack Drone giveaway.

Quick Facts

  1. Download additional order forms here (menu & order page)
  2. Collect the money from door to door sales at the time of order: Cash or checks made to "Pack 1040." you will have to turn all the money matching orders on November 15th.
  3. Use the Trail's End App to use Credit Cards when selling Door-to-door. Apple or Android
  4. Scouts should wear their uniforms when selling AND be accompanied by a parent.
  5. Do NOT enter any homes. Politely decline and offer to wait outside.
  6. Copy/scan/photo your final order before turning it in to your den leader. 

Take Orders Door-to-Door or with Family/friends
  • The Scout, in uniform, with his Akela goes door to door with a Take Order Form. Order Forms will provided during the Popcorn Kickoff.
  • The customer writes his/her order on the Take Order Form and the Scout collects the money now.
  • The Scout processes the order and delivers the Popcorn to the Customer after we distribute it on or around December 10th.
Using the Trail's End App to sell Face-to-Face (in-person credit card)
  • Follow the steps here to register your account.
  • You use the app instead of the paper form. That means you are responsible for delivering the popcorn in December.
  • You will need a live internet connection as you sell to put the orders in and to process credit cards.

Selling Online
  • Follow the guide to register for online sales
  • Send your customers to: trail's end website
  • Customers can search by name or use your Trail's End ID
  • The Product is shipped directly to the customer and the Scout and Unit receive credit for the Sale.
  • This is the best way for friends and family who do not live locally to support your goal and scouting efforts.

  • Teaches Scouts the value & process of setting and working toward goals
  • Gives Scouts a strong sense of accomplishment through recognition
  • Enhances communication, leadership skills and confidence in your Scout
  • Scouts can earn valuable rewards including gift cards and prizes
  • Scouts help the pack sponsor the cost of activities so families have to disburse less throughout the year.
