Scouting for Food

Post date: Jan 9, 2015 12:21:41 AM

In a national effort to do a good turn for America, we will once again this year participate in Scouting for food.

We will be canvassing the neighborhood around Askew Elementary and putting out doorhangers immediately after the Pinewood Derby on January 24th.

We will break into dens and each den will take an area of the map, maybe 3 - 4 blocks. With everyone pitching in, it shouldn't take more that 30-45 mins.

The following Saturday, January 31st, we will go back to the same neighborhoods to pick up the donated food, The residents will leave bags at their doors. This should also only take about 30 - 45 mins, 1 hour tops. All of our food donations will be donated and delivered to West Houston Assistance Ministries at 10501 Meadowglen Lane Houston, TX 77042. They will weigh the food for us and give us a total to turn in to Sam Houston Area Council. This is all part of the Souper Bowl of Caring which is a Nationwide event.
